Owl Clay Sculpture – Full Weekend Clay Workshop

Join us for our first-ever full weekend clay sculpture workshop, where you’ll discover a range of sculpting techniques and learn how to create your very own beautiful owl sculpture perched on a realistic clay wood base.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have previous experience working with clay, this two-day workshop is a fantastic opportunity to get creative, develop new skills and enjoy a relaxing weekend with like-minded people.

Day 1 – Saturday | 10am – 3pm

On the first day, you’ll learn how to transform clay into a realistic piece of wood, using a variety of sculpting and texturing techniques. This will form the base for your owl sculpture. Your creation will then be left overnight in The Events Space to dry, ready for the following day.

Day 2 – Sunday | 11am – 3pm

On Sunday, it’s time to bring your owl to life! You’ll learn even more sculpting techniques, including how to shape your owl, create realistic feathers and add intricate details to give your sculpture its own unique character.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity, learn new skills and enjoy the company of fellow craft enthusiasts.

Suitable for both beginners and more experienced participants, this workshop promises to be a fun and rewarding experience. Not only will you take away new skills and wonderful memories, but you’ll also have a beautiful handmade sculpture to treasure for years to come.

Once completed, your sculpture will be professionally fired and glazed before being returned to Gordon Rigg Garden Centre, Todmorden, ready for you to collect.
