Rigg’s Mill & Motor Museum is a one-of-a-kind attraction that celebrates both the industrial heritage of our region and the golden age of motoring.
Housed within the museum is a fascinating blend of history and engineering, where visitors can discover the sights, sounds, and stories of traditional cotton mill looms, marvel at beautifully preserved vintage cars, and experience the impressive power of stationary steam engines, including one of Fred Dibnah’s own stationary steam engines, a proud reminder of Britain’s engineering ingenuity and a highlight for enthusiasts of all ages.
Alongside this rare piece of heritage, the museum showcases a variety of antiques and machinery that demonstrate the innovation and craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Whether you’re passionate about motoring history, curious about the role of steam in driving industrial progress, or simply looking for a day out filled with discovery and nostalgia, Rigg’s Mill & Motor Museum offers a truly immersive and unforgettable journey through the past.
But this museum is more than just a collection of antiques, cars and machinery — It’s a story of passion, family, and community. From a 14-year-old boy and his first Austin 7, to this beautifully restored space where mechanical wonders come to life, we invite you to explore, discover, and be inspired.
Tickets cost £5 for under 16’s and seniors, £7 for adults and £17 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children). Under 3’s are free.
