Full sun. Well-drained, light soil containing peat.

Expert advice

Nerines sometimes do not bloom in the first growing season. Once established, bulbs should be left undisturbed. Only if bulbs become overcrowded they can be lifted, divided and replanted. When grown in pots, repot every 4-5 years before flower spikes appear and add bone-meal to the fresh compost.
