Toadstool Fibre Art
£35.00 per person
Step into the enchanting world of fungi and fibre art in this relaxing Toad Still Needle Felting Workshop. Create your own unique 3D toadstool scene as you learn the beautiful craft of needle felting onto fabric.
Perfect for complete beginners as well as those wanting to explore adding three-dimensional elements to textile art, this workshop will guide you through the process step-by-step. Using naturally dyed wool — including rich red tones coloured with madder root — you’ll learn how to build realistic texture, shading, highlights, grass, and earthy details to bring your toadstool scene to life.
You’ll work onto soft wool blanket offcuts, creating a tactile artwork that can be displayed in an embroidery hoop or taken home to frame.
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
- The basics of needle felting
- How to felt onto fabric
- Techniques for creating 3D forms
- How to add light, shading, and texture for realism
All materials and tools are provided, including finger protectors for comfort and safety. Needle felting involves repeatedly poking wool with a barbed needle, so occasional small finger pricks can happen, but you’ll be taught helpful techniques to avoid this.
Suitable for:
- Complete beginners
- Fibre art and textile enthusiasts
- Ages 10+ accompanied by an adult
Please let us know at the time of booking if a child will be attending.
Come and enjoy a mindful, creative session inspired by woodland textures, slow craft, and the quiet magic of toadstools.
