Wild Flower Corn Marigold
£3.49
Golden, daisy-like flowers around 5cm in diameter are borne on upright stems above fleshy, lobed leaves. Once an abundant wildflower of arable fields, Corn Marigold has been almost weed killed out of existence in the countryside, making it a worthwhile choice to grow in our gardens and help boost biodiversity. Its brilliant yellow flowers attract a host of beneficial pollinators such as hoverflies, whilst goldfinches and other birds enjoy feasting on the seedheads. This beautiful wildflower rewards with a long flowering period from June to September, and is perfect for a mini-meadow, especially when sown alongside its classic cornfield partners – corncockle and corn poppy. Its sturdy, fleshy stems also mean it stands up well in the herbaceous border. Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
