Wild Botanicals in Watercolour
Discover the beauty and versatility of watercolour painting in this inspiring workshop led by experienced artist and tutor Rachael Elwell.
Designed for those with some basic watercolour experience, this workshop will explore the delicate textures, vibrant colours and expressive qualities of wild botanical subjects, including flowers, leaves and foliage. Throughout the day, Rachael will demonstrate a range of both traditional and contemporary watercolour techniques, helping you develop your confidence with colour mixing, composition, layering and mark making.
You’ll begin by creating a series of smaller botanical studies, experimenting with different approaches and techniques before bringing everything you’ve learned together to produce a beautiful finished wildflower-inspired painting to take home.
With plenty of individual guidance and demonstrations throughout the session, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment while enjoying a day of creativity.
Who can attend?
Suitable for adults and young people aged 15+ (under 15s are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult).
This workshop is ideal for anyone with a basic knowledge of watercolour painting or those who have previously attended our Beginners Watercolour class and are looking to build on their skills.
