Embroidered folk birds -With Textiles by Murron

In this three-hour workshop, guided by textile artist Murron Fraser, you’ll create a decorative textile bird inspired by folk art and Norse traditions. Combining simple printmaking and hand embroidery techniques, you’ll design and embellish your own bird motif using pattern, colour, and stitch. Along the way, you’ll explore the folklore and symbolism of birds as messengers, protectors, and symbols of freedom, while developing practical textile skills. You’ll leave with a handcrafted bird decoration that celebrates both craft, heritage and creativity.
